Yemen’s Houthis accused the United States this Saturday of injuring three Russian sailors in a bombing on Friday against a Yemeni fuel terminal, where an oil tanker was docked.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Houthi government in Sana’a, Jamal Amer, stated in a message on X that “yesterday’s aggressive American bombings targeted a ship that was stationed in the port of Ras Issa to prevent it from unloading oil.”

“It caused three Russian sailors to suffer various injuries,” who were rescued to receive treatment, affirmed the minister of the Shiite rebels, who adds in the message, written in Arabic, the names of the three alleged Russian sailors, without giving more details about them or clarifying if the ship was hit.

He accused the U.S. of carrying out “random bombings” and attacking “economic targets of the Yemeni people.”

The Ras Issa fuel port has been attacked in recent days on several occasions by U.S. forces, who accuse the pro-Iranian Houthis of benefiting economically and militarily from these facilities to sell fuel and finance their operations.

U.S. forces in the area have been bombing Houthi positions since mid-March, including ports controlled by the rebels, such as Al Hudeida and Salif, in order to stop their attacks against international maritime navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Without mentioning a specific attack, the US Central Command (Centcom) said on Saturday in X that “24 hours a day, seven days a week, operations continue against the Houthis,” and added several videos of the missiles and aircraft it uses for such operations.
